Seven years ago, John and Logan were permanently relocating to Dallas and were searching for a prairie-style house to call home. With Logan’s deep family roots in Oak Cliff, and John wanting a quiet neighborhood with space, John mentioned in passing that he might not be opposed to a ranch style house, if they could get one in Wynnewood North. A few weeks later, they signed a contract and have been proud to call the place home ever since.

The original owners of this mid-century ranch owned and operated a plumbing company. As such, the home was equipped with the most modern and innovative fixtures and features for the period. With both of John & Logan’s two renovations, contractors marvel at the original pipes, tubes and contraptions inside the guts of the home.

Another feature common for mid-century ranch houses is an excessive number of interior doors. Cooling systems often required the ability to close off sections of the home to maximize cooling capacity. During their renovations, they eliminated the original hall (which had ten doors) from the home in order to maximize their space and provide additional display opportunities for a variety of collectibles.

In Wynnewood North, the home is known as the Tudor ranch, simply because of the exterior windows; however, once inside the finial collection in the living room would put Henry VIII to shame. Antiquing and travel are hobbies the owners take seriously, and you will bear witness to this as you stroll through their offices, living room, entry, den, bedrooms, and kitchen. The redesign of the den focused on vaulting the ceilings and implementing a feature wall that currently houses a huge antique apothecary cabinet. Repurposing antiques and art is their passion, and you’ll simply be amazed at the art and design displayed throughout the home.
